1893 - Development and expansion
The kerosene burner is an advanced product, with many small parts to be manufactured and assembled - this requires know-how and capital. The capital comes from CA Swahn's uncle - the successful clothing manufacturer Johannes Swahn. The knowledge comes from Germany - which with its Prussian school system created a cadre of unprecedentedly skilled engineers, and laid the foundation for what will soon become the world's foremost industrial nation. As German consul in Karlskrona, C.A. Swahn had the right contacts and with German help and German machines, the factory expanded in 1893 to newly built premises in central Karlskrona.
Lokförarlampan - as it was originally called - is a small spare lamp for the driver's cab, which is now made in three sizes and in a variety of colors, and which has become one of our most beloved classics.
